Today, we delved into the incredible world of teen developmental stages and how we can apply yoga to support these young minds. During the teenage years, adolescents experience numerous physical, emotional, and cognitive changes as they transition from childhood to adulthood. This pivotal stage of development can be challenging and overwhelming, making the need for support essential.

One of the highlights was exploring the power of aromatherapy through nature. We discovered the wonderful benefits it brings to both our bodies and minds and how we can include these concepts in our lessons. 

In addition, we had an enlightening lecture on chakras, where we learned how to apply Eastern psychology in the Western world as a language of emotional regulation. It was eye-opening to see how these ancient practices can help us navigate our emotions better and find balance in our everyday lives.

Sensory circuits are important for children because they provide opportunities to explore and develop their sensory processing abilities. They allow children to receive and respond to sensory input in a structured and intentional way. By engaging in activities that target different sensory systems such as touch, movement, balance, and proprioception (awareness of body position), sensory circuits help children become more aware of their own bodies, improve their ability to self-regulate, and enhance their overall sensory integration skills.

The online course is extremely well thought out and the information is so well organized.  The course touches on every aspect of what is necessary to teach kids. Having been a high school math teacher for the last 28 years, the information was so relatable. However, I wanted to better equip myself with the tools to teach young kids. This course certainly did not disappoint. I never would be able to share my yoga passion to the young kids with such creativity had I not participated in this course. I absolutely loved this course and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to teach yoga to kids. โœจ
